This page describes the editorial policy that the Nemours KidsHealth team follows when creating content. It does not pertain to content in other areas of this site.

How Nemours KidsHealth Content Is Created and Updated

The articles, animations, and features on this site are created by the clinicians, editors, and designers at the nonprofit Nemours Children's Health. Their goal is to make sure that all information is accurate, balanced, current, and family friendly.

Doctors and other health experts review all content before it is published on Nemours KidsHealth. Content is reviewed and updated on a regular basis to keep medical information accurate and relevant. Articles show the most recent review date and expert reviewer names, where appropriate.

The Nemours KidsHealth editorial staff also reviews all reader comments about the articles on this site, including suggestions for possible improvements and corrections.

Nemours KidsHealth Content Is Inclusive

The Nemours KidsHealth editorial staff makes every effort to be as neutral as possible with regard to sex, race, color, religion, and age. Articles may refer to infants, children, and teens as "they." This means infants, children, and teens of any gender, unless otherwise specified.

How Medical Reviewers Are Selected

Articles and features on this site are reviewed by members of the Nemours KidsHealth Panel of Expert Reviewers. The doctors and other clinical experts on this panel have special interest in and experience with the particular subject area.

Panel members who may have a conflict of interest due to their workplace affiliation or another professional or personal interest are not permitted to review specific content.

How Links and Resources Are Selected

Nemours KidsHealth editors and expert reviewers research the resources and links in each article to determine that they offer high-quality information that may be of interest to you. Although every effort is made to verify that the information these resources provide is up-to-date and accurate, the information tends to change and not all of it was necessarily reviewed by Nemours KidsHealth.

These resources are provided solely as a convenience to you and are not endorsed by Nemours or Nemours KidsHealth Educational Partners.
