How Well Does Your Child Hear?
Kids may be more at risk for hearing problems if:
- other family members had a childhood hearing loss
- there were severe complications at birth
- they get frequent ear infections that are not treated
- they’ve had a serious infection such as meningitis
A doctor may recommend a hearing evaluation if a young child has difficulty speaking or learning, seems frequently inattentive, or has any signs of hearing loss.
