Cultivo de sangre
¿Qué es un análisis de sangre?
Extrayendo y analizando una pequeña muestra de la sangre de una persona, los médicos pueden detectar enfermedades o afecciones médicas. Los análisis de sangre ayudan a los médicos a evaluar lo bien que están funcionando los órganos del cuerpo y a saber si un tratamiento médico está (o no) siendo eficaz.
Para ayudar a su hijo a prepararse para un análisis de sangre, averigüe si necesita ayunar (no comer ni beber) o si debería dejar de medicarse antes del análisis. Explíquele qué puede esperar durante el análisis. Si su hijo está ansioso porque le van a sacar sangre, trabaje con él maneras de mantener la calma.
¿Qué es un cultivo de sangre?
Un cultivo de sangre es una prueba que se centra en la búsqueda de gérmenes (como bacterias y hongos) en una muestra de sangre. Si se encuentran gérmenes, esta prueba también puede ayudar a los médicos a saber qué medicamentos funcionarán mejor para tratar la infección.
¿Por qué se hacen cultivos de sangre?
Los médicos pueden pedir un cultivo de sangre cuando un niño presenta signos de una infección que podría estar causada por bacterias u hongos. Esta prueba también se puede hacer cuando un niño tiene una infección en una parte del cuerpo que se puede haber extendido a la sangre.
