Many teens use some form of social media and have a profile on a social networking site. There are some good things about social media, but many risks can make it unsafe for kids. That’s why most social media sites won’t let you sign up if you’re younger than 13. But even if they do, it’s not a good idea for kids to be on social media.

If your friends are using social media and you really want to join them, talk with your parents. Learn about the dangers and think of how to protect your account. Once you know the risks and have a plan, you can enjoy social media safely.
