What Are Fatty Acids?

Fatty Acids

Like gas for a car, glucose is fuel for your cells. But if glucose isn't available, fatty acids may be used instead. Fatty acids are the building blocks of the fat in our bodies. They also can be found in the food we eat. When we digest fats, they are broken down into fatty acids. These fatty acids can then be absorbed into the blood.
