What's a Bolus?

Bolus

Say: BO-lus

You know that medicine needs to be taken in the right amount, or dose. For someone with diabetes, a bolus is a single, large dose of insulin that's taken to handle a rise in blood glucose (a type of sugar). A bolus is given as a shot or through an insulin pump.
