What Are Leg Braces?
Leg braces are devices that support the ankle and foot, and keep them in the right position for walking, standing, and sitting. These braces are sometimes called orthoses (or-THO-seez).
Are Leg Braces Right for My Child?
Kids who have weakness in the ankle or foot or high muscle tone (stiffness) in the lower limbs might find that leg braces help.
Are Leg Braces Covered by Insurance?
Leg braces are usually covered by insurance. Ask your child's doctor for more information.
