Can Masturbation Affect Periods?
Masturbation is when people touch or rub their own genitals because they like the way it feels. Masturbation doesn’t affect periods or cause health problems.
You might hear other rumors about masturbation. Like rumors that it can cause diseases, mental problems, or blindness; stunt your growth; or stop you from having kids someday. But these things aren't true.
People often think of masturbation as a private topic. They may feel embarrassed to ask or even wonder about it. When something feels too awkward to talk or ask about, people might believe things about it that aren't correct.
Your doctor is the best person to give you the medical facts when it comes to masturbation or anything else to do with your health. Chances are lots of other patients have asked them the same questions before.
