In the United States, every newborn is tested for genetic and other conditions that aren't obvious at birth. A simple blood test lets doctors find out if a baby has one of several health problems so that treatment can start right away if needed.
A lymphatic malformation is a clump of lymph vessels. These growths aren't cancerous, but they often need treatment because they can press on other body parts as they grow, causing problems.
