kidney stones

The kidneys filter waste products out of the blood. That waste is combined with water to make urine (pee). Sometimes the stuff in pee, like calcium, makes little crystals that build up to become hard stones. Depending on their size, kidney stones can be painful, cause blood in the urine, and block pee from coming out of a kidney.
