insulin resistance

People who are starting to get type 2 diabetes are still able to make insulin, but the insulin can't work the way it should. The body doesn't let insulin do its job as well so it's harder for glucose (a type of sugar) to get into the cells. This is called insulin resistance. People who have insulin resistance may or may not develop type 2 diabetes.
