Pronounced: in-HAY-lur. An inhaler is a device that can get asthma medicine directly into a person\'s lungs. The medicine is a mist, spray, or powder that the person breathes in (inhales). In the lungs, this medicine can go right to work, opening narrowed airways (breathing tubes) to make it easier to breathe.
