Una fisura anal es un corte o desgarro en el revestimiento del ano.

Una fisura anal puede ocurrir cuando alguien hace heces (caca) grandes o duras, lo que estira el revestimiento del ano hasta desgarrarlo. También puede ocurrir cuando la diarrea frecuente irrita ese revestimiento.
Una fisura anal puede causar dolor o picor en la zona, sobre todo durante y después de las deposiciones. También se puede ver sangre en las heces, las toallitas o el papel higiénico.
En los bebés, las fisuras anales son muy frecuentes y se suelen curar por completo con cuidados básicos, como baños de asiento y pomadas. En niños mayores y adolescentes, los cortes pueden tardar varias semanas o más en cicatrizar y, a veces, volverse a abrir.
Tenga en cuenta
Prevenir el estreñimiento y mantener limpia la zona puede ayudar a curar las fisuras anales. Beber mucho líquido, tomar ablandadores de heces, comer alimentos con fibra y hacer ejercicio físico con regularidad pueden ayudar a tratar y prevenir las fisuras anales al facilitar la evacuación intestinal. Mantener la zona limpia y aplicar pomadas puede aliviar el dolor y acelerar el proceso de curación.
En contadas ocasiones, las fisuras no se curan. En estos casos, los médicos pueden recomendar operarlas.
