My boyfriend and I have oral sex but haven't had vaginal sex. Is it possible for me to get pregnant?

No, it's not possible to get pregnant from oral sex alone. Sperm must get into the vagina — and eventually up through the cervix into the uterus. If you do have vaginal sex, you could get pregnant.

While you can't get pregnant just with oral sex, you could get a sexually transmitted disease (STD). To avoid pregnancy and STDs, use a condom every time you have sex — including oral, vaginal, or anal sex. Whenever you get oral sex, your partner should use a dental dam. When you give your partner oral sex, he should wear a latex condom — or, if either of you are allergic to latex, a polyurethane condom. Also, there are flavored condoms made specifically for oral sex.
